Terms of Service and Privacy Policy

Before you download and start using CysTerra, please read and accept the following terms. If you do not agree all or part of the following statements, please stop using CysTerra immediately.

Privacy

CysTerra collects the following information of yours.

• System version and device model;
• CysTerra version.

The purposes of these collections are automatic update check, error reporting, and detection and prevention of violation of the terms of service. Unless otherwise specified by laws, Cryville SHALL NOT provide the information to the third party without your permission. Cryville SHALL NOT use the information for any other purpose.

Moreover, if you enable certain event sources, CysTerra will send its version to them. Other information such as your system version is not sent. Also, the providers of these event sources MAY collect some information, such as your IP address. For details, please see the terms of service and the privacy policies of those event sources.

Content

CysTerra fetches information related to earthquakes, tsunamis, volcanoes, etc. from various event sources on the Internet, and combines them into a unified interface.

Some information displayed in CysTerra is technical, requiring you to have knowledge on particular seismological terms.

Note that CysTerra DOES NOT provide, WILL NOT provide, and IS NOT CAPABLE OF providing information without scientific support such as earthquake forecasts.

Prohibitions

Cryville has the right to terminate the service to those who are identified to have taken one of the following actions when using CysTerra.

1. Use CysTerra or any of its resources (including but not limited to app icons, screenshots, recordings, and texts), either directly or indirectly, for purposes other than scientific disaster prevention, such as entertainment and false advertising;
2. Modify the information presented in CysTerra and spread it, misleading others about the disaster information or the features of CysTerra;
3. Interfere with the normal operation of the CysTerra service;
4. Violate the terms described in the Copyright section below;
5. Violate laws;
6. Take other actions that Cryville recognizes as improper ones.

Disclaimer

Cryville and its members DO NOT provide warranty for the reliability and information correctness of the event sources available in CysTerra. See also the disclaimers from those event sources.

Although some event sources in CysTerra provide information of earthquake early warning, Cryville does not recommend you to use it as your primary source for disaster prevention. You should receive warnings from your government or other official authorities.

Cryville and its members DO NOT take responsibility for the damage or legal liability caused while you are using CysTerra. Note that the information displayed in CysTerra can create panic to some people. Please be cautious when sharing them (including but not limited to screenshots, recordings, and texts of CysTerra) in case of negative impact.

The names of the agencies, departments etc. mentioned in CysTerra are denoted with their original full names or abbreviations. The names of languages, scripts, and regions, together with their formats, follow general international standards. These contents DO NOT have any political implication, NOR do they represent the political standing of Cryville or any of its members.

Copyright

The components of CysTerra in the interface repository are open-sourced with the license specified in the repository.

The compoments in the public repository that do not belong to the interface layer are open-sourced with the license specified in the public repository.

The applications of CysTerra are maintained by Cryville, who reserves all rights of the following components in CysTerra. Without permissions from Cryville, you MUST NOT copy, modify, sell, or, for commercial purposes, use these components.

Cryville reserves the final right of interpretation of the terms above.

Cryville may revise the terms above without announcements. The modified terms apply to the versions released after the modification.
